Privacy Policy

SentLines provides language correction and translation inside OpenAI products. It does not require a separate SentLines account or independently store the text and images you submit to the plugin.

Information processed

To provide a response, the OpenAI product processes the content you choose to send, which may include text, images, language preferences, and conversation context. SentLines uses that content only to produce the requested correction, reconstruction, or translation during the conversation.

The connection requests OpenAI identity scopes so the platform can authenticate access to the SentLines tool. The SentLines tool does not store your email address or send it to Google Analytics. It uses only a platform-provided user identifier to create the rotating pseudonymous identifier described below.

Website analytics

With your permission, sentlines.com uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand website visits and clicks that open the SentLines plugin. Analytics may process information such as the page visited, referral source, device and browser information, approximate location, and interaction timestamps. SentLines does not send practice sentences, translations, image contents, language choices, or ChatGPT conversation content to Firebase.

Analytics stays off unless you select “Allow analytics.” You can decline without losing website or plugin functionality and reopen your choice through “Analytics settings” in the website footer.

Plugin usage analytics

When the SentLines usage tool is enabled, it sends a limited event after a setup, demo, translation, or level change succeeds. Each event contains only the event type, CEFR level, main-language code, number of translation languages, input type (text, image, remembered phrase, or demo), and number of sentence groups. It never includes practice sentences, translations, image contents, filenames, names, email addresses, or conversation text.

To estimate daily usage without receiving your identity, the service converts the platform-provided user identifier into a salted, rotating daily pseudonymous identifier before sending the event to Google Analytics. The original identifier is not sent to Google or stored by SentLines. Advertising personalization and ad-user-data signals are denied for these events.

Recipients

SentLines does not maintain a database of your practice content or send that content to a developer-controlled service. OpenAI processes the content and connection identity needed to run the plugin. OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure providers deliver the website and MCP endpoint. Google processes the limited website and plugin analytics described above under its applicable service terms. SentLines does not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Retention

SentLines does not retain practice text, translations, images, filenames, email addresses, or conversation content on its own servers. The rotating pseudonymous plugin analytics identifier changes every UTC day and cannot be used by SentLines to follow the same user across days. Event-level website and plugin analytics are retained for no longer than 14 months and are then deleted or aggregated; aggregate reports that no longer identify a user may be kept longer. A website visitor’s analytics choice remains in that browser until it is changed through “Analytics settings” or the browser’s site data is cleared. OpenAI retains conversation content according to the user’s OpenAI plan and privacy controls.

Your choices

You can decline website analytics without losing website or plugin functionality. You can stop plugin usage analytics by disabling the SentLines tool connection or uninstalling the plugin in your OpenAI product. Avoid submitting confidential or sensitive material that you do not want processed by the OpenAI service. You can begin a new conversation or delete conversations using the controls available in that service. SentLines language preferences apply only within the current conversation. Children

SentLines is a general-audience language-learning tool suitable for users aged 13 and older. It does not target children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If SentLines later adds an external service or changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated before that change is released.
